Croatia, Turkey qualify: how the groups ended

Turkey pipped Hungary to finish as the best third-placed team and join Croatia in gaining automatic qualification. Hungary follow Bosnia and Herzegovina and Norway into the play-offs.

What happens now?
• The nine group winners and nine runners-up along with the third-placed side with the best record against the teams first, second, fourth and fifth in their section have qualified directly for the expanded 24-nation tournament in France.
• Eight sides in the play-offs in November; draw 11.20CET on Sunday
• Play-offs on 12/13/14 and 15/16/17 November determine the last four qualifiers for the finals.

• Turkey were grateful for Kazakhstan beating Latvia to finish fifth in Group A, otherwise Hungary would have qualified.
• Four sides will be seeded and drawn against the four non-seeds. Seedings confirmed on Wednesday.
• After the draw is made on Sunday, ties will be allocated to be played on either 12 & 15 November, 13 & 16 November or 14 & 17 November, with at least one game on each night.

Qualifying facts
• England achieved the only perfect record.
• Iceland and Albania have reached their first-ever senior men's final tournaments.
• Northern Ireland, Slovakia and Wales have also qualified for their debut UEFA EURO.
• Poland's Robert Lewandowki was the leading marksman on 13 goals, equalling David Healy's record for a single campaign.
• During the campaign, Cristiano Ronaldo became all-time top competition scorer on 26 goals and Robbie Keane became all-time top UEFA EURO qualifying scorer on 23 goals.
• Final tournament draw in Paris at 18.00CET on 12 December. Seedings to be confirmed after play-offs.
