Manchester United FC goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard has been added to Denmark's UEFA EURO 2012 squad after impressing coach Morten Olsen at their training camp.
On Wednesday, Olsen released the names of 20 of the 23 players who will travel to the finals and in addition invited Lindegaard, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim defender Jannik Vestergaard and FC Groningen forward Nicklas Pedersen to join them at their base in Elsinore.
However, after only three days with the squad, Lindegaard – who has not played since January because of an ankle injury – has sufficiently impressed to fill one of the three vacant spaces in the squad for the tournament in Poland and Ukraine.
"We have never been in doubt about Anders' qualities," said Olsen. "It has purely been a matter of testing how he was after his long injury break. After three training sessions we are in no doubt that we've got an injury-free third keeper in our squad."
