EURO 2016 SAS has confirmed a partnership with France's national development and tourism agency, Atout France, hoping fans will see more than just football at UEFA EURO 2016.

France's minister of foreign affairs and international development, Laurent Fabius, oversaw the signing of a formal agreement today, by which EURO 2016 SAS and Atout France will aim to raise awareness of what the country has to offer. Work with France's embassies worldwide and social media output will encourage the millions of visitors expected during next summer's final tournament to stay longer and discover France, as well as watching football matches.

"We have a triple goal – to maximise benefits in terms of tourism, commerce and the economy," explained EURO 2016 SAS president Jacques Lambert. "We want to make this more than just a sporting event, for the benefit of France." Atout France general director Christian Mantei added: "This represents an extraordinary opportunity to show the world our ability to welcome people all over the country, and we all have to be ready for this."
