UEFA is proud to announce the appointment of Crédit Agricole as a national sponsor of UEFA EURO 2016.
Crédit Agricole, which will be the official bank of the event, is a long-term supporter of French football. The company was a partner of the 1998 FIFA World Cup organising committee and will continue its association with the game in France following today's announcement.
As the No1 French banking group with 7,000 branches and 21 million customers, Crédit Agricole is a cooperative establishment directly engaged with people throughout France.
This allows it to get involved in football all over the country, sharing the common values with the sport of accessibility, a wide-ranging appeal and ease of participation.
With France hosting its third UEFA European Football Championship next year, Crédit Agricole will be present for the 51 matches staged across ten cities. The 39 cooperatives that make up the bank will be perfectly placed to share this festival of football with the biggest number of fans.
Jean-Marie Sander, Crédit Agricole SA president, said: "The partnership of Crédit Agricole with UEFA EURO 2016 is part of our longstanding, historical commitment to French football.
"There are ten French regions preparing to hold matches next summer and we are delighted that France will be hosting this competition. This event, which will be felt well beyond our borders, will bring French citizens together around a shared passion: football. At Crédit Agricole, we are ready and can't wait for Le Rendez-Vous!"
Jacques Lambert, president of EURO 2016 SAS, added: "Crédit Agricole has a long relationship with sport and football. Working together in an event as big as EURO was obvious.
"Across the nation, Crédit Agricole is huge and its positioning as a major bank in the French market marks it out as a partner that matches the prestige of the event. We are delighted to have the support of Crédit Agricole as the official bank of UEFA EURO 2016."
UEFA will announce another partner to join the family of national sponsors in the coming weeks. This will bring the total to four, alongside Crédit Agricole, FDJ and PROMAN, with six positions available in all.
