Ordered to rest
The 25-year-old recruit from UD Leiria injured his left knee during Porto's pre-season friendly against FC Internazionale Milano in Amsterdam on Saturday. After scans suggested ligament damage, João Paulo has been ordered to rest for the next four weeks with the possibility of surgery to follow. João Paulo spent five seasons with Leiria, making 131 Liga appearances. Porto will enter the UEFA Champions League group stage, starting on 12/13 September.
