Pierre Webo faces a race to be ready for CA Osasuna's UEFA Champions League debut after the Cameroon forward finished hospital treatment for malaria less than three weeks before the third qualifying round.
'A big motivation'
Webo had just started pre-season training when diagnosed with malaria a fortnight ago, and now has 19 days to get fit for Osasuna's third qualifying round first leg – while fully overcoming the effects of an illness caught on holiday in Africa. "It would be terrible to miss the first leg of the Champions League match, so the thought of going back to work with my colleagues is a big motivation," Webo said. The 24-year-old scored six goals in 31 games last season, his third in Pamplona, to help Osasuna to fourth place in Spain's Primera División.
