Turkish champions Galatasaray SK have signed Okan Buruk on a free transfer from Beşiktaş JK as well as Turkish international defender Tolga Seyhan on a year-long loan from FC Shakhtar Donetsk.
Tolga chance
Tolga, 29, joined Shakhtar from Trabzonspor in a €2.2m transfer but has elected to return to Turkey after just 16 appearances for the Ukrainian champions last season. "To win back his place in the national team he needs to be in full view," Shakhtar coach Mircea Lucescu said. "The best way for him to do that is to return to the Turkish championship." Tolga, who has scored twice in 18 matches for Turkey, last featured for the national side in a friendly against the Czech Republic in March.
Homecoming
Midfielder Okan Buruk, 32, rejoins the club where began his professional career. Okan Buruk came through the Galatasaray youth system and, following his debut during the 1991/92 campaign, played nearly 200 league games before signing for FC Internazionale Milano. He spent three seasons at the San Siro but appeared just 25 times, prompting his switch to Istanbul and Beşiktaş in 2004/05.
