Andrade replacement
The 24-year-old centre-back signed a five-year deal and will replace the Portuguese international Jorge Andrade, Deportivo's most expensive signing of the summer at €12m, who is out for two months with a broken bone in his foot.
Just in time
The transfer was completed just before the deadline for the Primera División but after that for the UEFA Champions League. In the same deal, José Manuel Menéndez moves in the opposite direction.
Loan deal
Deportivo president Augusto César Lendoiro also announced that José Manuel Colmenero, Fernando Sánchez and Jaime Sánchez have joined 1. Bundesliga side Hannover 96 for the season.
