Five-year deal
Acuña has signed a five-year contract, with an option for a further year, with the Spanish Cup holders. As part of the deal Jesús Muñoz - Depor coach Javier Irureta's summer signing from Club Atlético de Madrid - will move to Zaragoza along with David Pirri. Acuña will replace Brazilian midfield player Emerson who today completed his move to Atlético.
Former clubs
The 30-year-old Acuña arrived at Zaragoza in the 1997/98 season from Argentina's Club Atlético Independiente de Avellaneda. His other former clubs include Club Atlético Boca Juniors and Asociación Atlética Argentinos Juniors in Argentina and Nacional de Asunción in Paraguay.
Five-match suspension
Acuña, voted the best South American player in the Spanish league last season, will begin training with his new team-mates next Monday. However, he will miss the first five league matches of the new season due to a ban received after he was sent off in the last match of the 2001/02 season.
