Real Madrid were the most successful team in the European Cup and having won the title five times more since 1993 the holders also lead the way in the UEFA Champions League era – but not by much.
After nearly 25 years and over 220 games apiece, just five points separate the Merengues and their great rivals Barcelona in these unofficial all-time standings. That difference could be overhauled before this season's semi-finals!
Bayern close out the top three, putting distance between themselves and a Manchester United side not in the UEFA Champions League this term. Arsenal are a distant fifth, with Juventus sixth having surpassed AC Milan during the current campaign.
Other highs
Madrid have played the most matches (231), registered the most wins (136) and scored the most goals (483) yet they have also conceded more than any other team (247).
Manchester United are the competition's draw specialists (54), while Porto have the unwelcome record of most losses – a small price to pay for qualifying as many times as anyone over the years. Remarkably, Madrid and Barcelona have an identical goal difference: +236.
Last 16 standing
And the rest of this season's last 16? Porto (9th), Dortmund (12th), Paris (16th), Leverkusen (18th), Benfica (20th), Atlético (22nd), Monaco (25th), Manchester City (33rd), Sevilla (44th), Napoli (49th), Leicester (76th).
