Barcelona's eight UEFA.com users' Team of the Year nominees ended their 2015 on a high as they helped the Blaugrana lift a record third FIFA Club World Cup title with a 3-0 defeat of River Plate in Yokohama.
The eight players all started and impressed in their penultimate outing of the year, Lionel Messi notching the opener before Luis Suárez struck twice in the second half. The Uruguayan's double took his tally to five in Barcelona's two-game participation in Japan after scoring a hat-trick against China's Guangzhou Evergrande in Thursday's semi-final.
Dani Alves, Gerard Piqué, Javier Mascherano, Ivan Rakitić, Andrés Iniesta and Neymar are the other Barça players shortlisted for the Team of the Year and added to their Liga, Copa del Rey, UEFA Champions League and UEFA Super Cup medals from the previous year by helping Luis Enrique's side to victory against the Argentinian outfit.
