Welbeck admits Arsenal have it all to do

A downcast Danny Welbeck did not hide his disappointment after "silly goals" and Arsenal FC's profligacy left the Gunners with a mountain to climb versus AS Monaco FC.

Welbeck: First goal was crucial

England forward Danny Welbeck was in no doubt about the difference between Arsenal FC and opponents AS Monaco FC after their 3-1 home defeat in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 encounter.

"The first goal played a massive part and we conceded some silly goals too. We had our chances and just didn't put them away. We are really disappointed and have it all to do now in the second leg."

Indeed, Arsène Wenger's men will have to make history if they are to progress: no side has ever overcome a two-goal deficit from the first leg of a UEFA Champions League tie.
