Chelsea FC have had a busy final day of the transfer window, following the departure of André Schürrle with the signing of Juan Cuadrado from ACF Fiorentina. Mohamed Salah goes the other way on loan.
Minutes after Schürrle's switch to VfL Wolfsburg in a deal reportedly worth €30m was confirmed on Monday evening the Blues confirmed the arrival of Cuadrado, the man known as 'Vespa', for a similar figure.
The Colombia midfielder, 26, arrives at Stamford Bridge on a contract running until summer 2019 and ends five-and-a-half years in Italy, first with Udinese Calcio before switching to Fiorentina in 2012 after a loan spell at US Lecce.
Egypt winger Salah, 22, joins the Viola until the end of the season with an option for Fiorentina to buy him in the summer if he performs well for Vincenzo Montella's team. Sixth in Serie A, Fiorentina are also through to the last 32 of the UEFA Europa League – a competition Salah has illuminated before.
