The 25-year-old is due to undergo a medical tomorrow before being presented at the Mestalla. Valencia will become the eighth club of Caneira's career, with Sporting Clube de Portugal, SC Salgueiros, SC Beira-Mar, Alverca Futebol SAD, Reggina Calcio and SL Benfica among his former teams.
Sixth signing
The versatile Caneira, who was in Portugal's squad at the 2002 FIFA World Cup, is new Valencia coach Claudio Ranieri's sixth signing. In addition to Italians Bernardo Corradi, Marco Di Vaio, Stefano Fiore and Emiliano Moretti, Frenchman Ludovic Butelle is the new arrival.
