'You are not alone, Philippines' will be the message on a banner at each UEFA Champions League game this week, as European football remembers the victims of the 8 November typhoon.

As a mark of respect to the victims of the typhoon that hit the Philippines on 8 November, a banner will be displayed ahead of all this week's UEFA Champions League games.

The banners will bear the message 'Hindi kayo nagiisa, Pilipinas' (You are not alone, Philippines). UEFA President Michel Platini explained: "The entire European football family will stand united on the pitch this week before our matches, in order to express our deepest sympathy and full support to the Philippines, and we wish them continued strength in tackling the subsequent problems following the tragedy."

UEFA is in the process of contacting the Philippines Football Federation (PFF) to determine the most appropriate means of support.
