Manchester United FC midfielder Michael Carrick will miss the rest of the UEFA Champions League group stage after being ruled out for four to six weeks with an Achilles injury.
Carrick, 32, featured in the Premier League victory over Arsenal FC at the weekend and has made ten league starts this term but now faces a spell on the sidelines. The England international, capped 31 times, also played every minute of United's first three Group A matches but sat out the goalless draw at Real Sociedad de Fútbol on matchday four.
United currently top their section and visit second-placed Bayer 04 Leverkusen on 27 November before hosting FC Shakhtar Donetsk on matchday six.
