SSC Napoli have announced that former France defender Anthony Réveillère has signed a contract with the Partenopei, reportedly until June with an option for a further season.
The right-back, who turns 34 on Sunday, was without a club after leaving Olympique Lyonnais in the summer. "I am honoured to have the chance to play for Napoli," said Réveillère, who made 286 Ligue 1 outings and won five French titles for Lyon after arriving from Stade Rennais FC.
Capped 20 times by his country, Réveillère has been snapped up by Napoli coach Rafael Benítez after the Serie A side lost full-backs Camilo Zúñiga and Giandomenico Mesto to injury. He will be eligible to feature in European competition after the end of the UEFA Champions League group stage.
Napoli, level on points with Arsenal FC at the Group F summit, are three points ahead of third-placed Borussia Dortmund with two games remaining. The southern team also lie second in Italy's top flight.
