Manchester City FC have further bolstered their attack ahead of the new season by landing Montenegrin international forward Stevan Jovetić from ACF Fiorentina for a reported €25m fee.
Jovetić, 23, scored 35 goals in 116 Serie A appearances over four full seasons at Fiorentina and became Manuel Pellegrini's second signing of the day, with City having earlier confirmed the arrival of striker Álvaro Negredo from Sevilla FC. Jovetić, who has also registered ten goals in 27 international outings for Montenegro, began his career in Serbia with FK Partizan, finding the net 12 times in 51 league games.
New City boss Pellegrini has been busy in the transfer window since taking over at last term's Premier League runners-up. In addition to Negredo and now Jovetić, the Manchester club have already brought in Jesús Navas from Sevilla and Fernandinho from FC Shakhtar Donetsk, while Carlos Tévez left for Juventus earlier this month.
City will begin their UEFA Champions League campaign in the group stage, the draw for which takes place on 29 August in Monaco.
