Ajax coach De Boer delighted to bring in Bojan

"Bojan Krkić is a top player," said AFC Ajax coach Frank de Boer after the Dutch champions agreed a loan deal with FC Barcelona – the forward's third successive season-long move.

UEFA Champions League group stage contenders AFC Ajax have reinforced their forward line with the loan signing of Bojan Krkić.

The 22-year-old joins the Dutch title holders from FC Barcelona on a season-long deal, though the Amsterdam outfit have an option for another year. It signals a third loan spell in as many seasons for the Spanish international, who scored seven goals in 33 outings for AS Roma in 2011/12 and struck three times in 19 games with AC Milan last term.

Despite his age, Bojan has also made 104 Liga appearances for Barcelona, winning three Spanish titles. He fills a void in the Ajax attack following the departures of Ryan Babel to Kasımpaşa SK and Miralem Sulejmani to SL Benfica.

"Bojan is a top player that we can really use," said Ajax coach Frank de Boer. "He is skilful, has good game insight and can score. We've added a very good player. I think he'll play right wing, but he can also be used as a left-winger or striker. I am happy we have a strong, deep squad for a busy season."
