Olympique Lyonnais have secured Portugal right-back Miguel Lopes on a season-long loan deal from Sporting Clube de Portugal, agreeing an option to make the deal permanent.
Capped four times by his country, the 26-year-old defender will join up with his colleagues in midweek and becomes Lyon's second signing of the summer after Gaël Danic. "Miguel Lopes is an athletic player who plays on the right side of defence for the most part but has the versatility to play on the left as well, which convinced Portugal's coach [Paulo Bento] to select him for EURO 2012," read a statement from the French club.
Lyon will enter the UEFA Champions League in the third qualifying round after finishing third in Ligue 1 last term.
