SL Benfica have made their fifth Serbian signing of the summer after capturing Stefan Mitrović, 23, for an undisclosed figure.
The centre-back arrives from Belgian side KV Kortrijk on a five-year deal and says "it is a big step forward for my career". He added: "This is a club with tradition and a great history and one that plays amazing football. They are among the top ten European clubs and everybody wants to play here. I'm proud to have signed for Benfica. I will fight to help the club to win titles."
Mitrović, who has had previous spells at MFK Petržalka, FK Metalac and FC Zbrojovka Brno, becomes the sixth Serbian player on the Lisbon outfit's books. Five have arrived over the past month, with Lazar Marković, Miralem Sulejmani, Filip Djuričić and Uroš Matić joining Matić's older brother Nemanja at the Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica.
