PFC CSKA Moskva have strengthened their squad ahead of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 with the signing of forward Ahmed Musa from Eredivisie outfit VVV-Venlo.

Musa, highly regarded as one of Nigeria's up-and-coming talents and capped 12 times by his country, has signed a five-year contract. The 19-year-old scored eight goals in 37 Dutch top-flight appearances and follows in the footsteps of playmaker Keisuke Honda in moving from Venlo to the Russian capital club.

"I never dreamt of such a move when I arrived in the Netherlands," said Musa, who will join his new team-mates at their mid-season training camp in Campoamor, Spain. "I'm glad I was given the chance to show what I could do at Venlo. Now there's a great challenge ahead at CSKA. I'm happy to join a top club where I can win trophies and feature in Europe. That's why I agreed to move here and I can't wait to play my first game for CSKA."

CSKA, second in the Russian Premier League, host Real Madrid CF in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie on 21 February before the return in Spain on 14 March.
