SSC Napoli have signed Goran Pandev on loan from FC Internazionale Milano ahead of their debut in the UEFA Champions League group stage.

The 28-year-old striker will spend the whole of the 2011/12 season at the Stadio San Paolo, which will play host to FC Bayern München, Manchester City FC and Villarreal CF in Group A of Europe's premier club competition.

Pandev rejoined the Nerazzurri midway through their treble-winning campaign of 2009/10 and scored in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup in December last year in addition to winning the Coppa Italia again in May.

Inter originally signed the forward, who has been named in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia squad for their forthcoming UEFA European Championship qualifiers, in 2001/02 but after loan spells with Spezia Calcio and AC Ancona, they sold him to S.S. Lazio in 2004.

Pandev will have to wait for his first appearance in a Napoli shirt, though, following the players' strike which has led to the cancellation of this weekend's opening programme of matches.
