Article body
Galatasaray SK have signed Colombian international Jersson Amur González in time for the defender to feature in the Turkish club's UEFA Champions League campaign.
Permanent move possible
The 27-year-old, who has been capped 14 times, has signed a loan deal which will keep him at the Ali Sami Yen stadium until the end of the season. If all goes well, Galatasaray will be able to make the move permanent.
Attacking instincts
González, who has been loaned from Colombian side América de Cali, is renowned for his free-kick ability and attacking instincts, despite playing in defence. In the 2000/01 season he scored seven goals in 30 matches. "González will be a big success," Galatasaray official Abdürrahim Albayrak said. "He plays great. At a tournament that Colombia played in the United States, he was chosen as his country's best player."
Spehar leaving
Meanwhile Galatasaray have sold striker Robert Spehar, 31, to Belgian club R. Standard de Liège. The Croatian has played for six previous clubs including spells in his native country, France, Italy and Portugal.
