Twente's Bajrami faces 'several weeks' out

The FC Twente midfielder Emir Bajrami will be sidelined for "several weeks" as he recovers from an ankle operation, ruling him out of two UEFA Champions League matches.

Winger Emir Bajrami will sit out FC Twente's UEFA Champions League matches against SV Werder Bremen as he recovers from ankle surgery.

The 22-year-old Sweden midfield player had a successful operation on Monday after injuring his right ankle during the Dutch champions' previous Group A game, the 4-1 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur FC on 29 September.

Twente say that Bajrami, a summer signing from IF Elfsborg, will be missing for "several weeks", ruling him out of the home (20 October) and away (2 November) fixtures against Bremen.
