FC Bayern München's Franck Ribéry will miss the UEFA Champions League final after the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body today decided to suspend the winger for three UEFA club competition matches for assault.
Ribéry received a red card for serious foul play in the UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg against Olympique Lyonnais in Munich on 21 April. The French international was banned for last night's second leg in Lyon, which means that the suspension now remains in place for two further games – the UEFA Champions League final in Madrid on 22 May and the following match in any UEFA club competition for which he is eligible.
Bayern may appeal within three days of communication of the decision.
