UEFA notes with satisfaction that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has today dismissed another request for provisional measures by FC Metalist Kharkiv.

The Ukrainian club were attempting to obtain a stay of execution of the decision of the UEFA Appeals Body dated 14 August 2013, according to which the club was disqualified from UEFA competitions owing to its involvement in match-fixing.  This follows an earlier ruling of CAS (issued on 16 August 2013) dismissing a previous request for a stay of execution.

Metalist have been replaced in the competition by PAOK FC, who are scheduled to play against FC Schalke 04 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League play-off tie on 21 August.
