The highly-regarded 24-year-old midfielder David López will hope to help Athletic Club Bilbao enjoy better fortunes next season after moving from CA Osasuna.

European experience
Having made his name in the past three seasons in Pamplona, David López has agreed a €6m switch to their Basque rivals who only just avoided a first-ever relegation from Spain’s Primera División at the end of the 2006/07 campaign. As well as playing 77 league games overall for Osasuna, he played a key role in the club reaching the UEFA Cup semi-finals. Athletic have yet to appoint a new coach to replace the departed José Manuel Esnal, better known as 'Mané'.
