England striker Matthew Fryatt moved second in the scoring charts at the UEFA European Under-19 Championship finals as his hat-trick against Serbia and Montenegro took England through to Friday's final and the Walsall FC forward on to four goals for the tournament.
Second with four
Fryatt struck in the 18th minute to put Martin Hunter's side ahead, and added two more late on to climb second in the standings behind Serbo-Montenegrin captain Borko Veselinovic, who still leads the way with five goals. In the other semi-final, Abdoulaye Balde's double took him on to three goals, the same number as team-mate Yohan Gourcuff.
Second strikes
Denis Epstein and Kevin-Prince Boateng both scored in Germany's 3-2 defeat, their second goals of the tournament, as did Nebojša Marinkovic in Serbia and Montenegro's 3-1 loss to England in Lurgan. The other goal of the semi-finals was scored by Yohan Cabaye of France, his first in Northern Ireland.
