Idrissou injured
Hannover 96 have lost Cameroonian striker Mohammadou Idrissou for six weeks after he underwent surgery on his left knee today. The 24-year-old hurt his left knee in training at the team's camp in Bad Lauterberg and will now miss the opening weeks of the Bundesliga season, which begins on 7 August.

Lehmann signs on
Midfield player Michael Lehmann has extended his contract with 1. FC Kaiserslautern by another 12 months until 2007. The 19-year-old German youth international, who has been with the club since 1992, impressed in 12 Bundesliga games last season. He is currently recovering from an operation on his left foot but will be back for jogging sessions next week.

Koumas signs
In England, Wales midfield player Jason Koumas has signed an improved contract with West Bromwich Albion FC. Koumas put in a transfer request after talks stalled on an extension to his contract, which had two years to run. However, West Brom manager Gary Megson rejected his request and Koumas has now agreed to a new deal. Meanwhile, Everton FC chief executive Trevor Birch has resigned just six weeks after taking the job at Goodison Park.

Pacheco agrees new deal
Albacete Balompié striker Antonio Pacheco D’Agosti has agreed a four-year contract extension with the Primera División club. The Uruguayan joined Albacete on loan from FC Internazionale last summer and scored seven goals last season.

Quansah loaned out
AFC Ajax have loaned Ghanaian striker Kwame Quansah to second division side SC Heracles Almelo. The 21-year-old, who has signed a one-year deal with the Almelo side, has made just one appearance for Ajax since joining in 1999. He was on loan at KFC Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen in 2002/03, and at Swedish side AIK Solna last season.

Arason back in Norway
Vålerenga Fotball have signed Iceland goalkeeper Árni Gautur Arason on a contract until the end of the 2007 season. Arason, who lost his place at Rosenborg BK to Espen Johnsen, failed to win a permanent deal at Manchester City FC last season but now returns to Norway to a Vålerenga side seeking a new goalkeeper after the on-loan Pa Dembo Tourray returned to Djurgårdens IF. In Iceland, meanwhile, Fylkir striker Jón Björgvin Hermannsson will not play again this season after breaking a leg against KR Reykjavík on 10 July.
