Defender Taribo West's season in the wilderness ended when he joined 1. Bundesliga club 1. FC Kaiserslautern on Thursday.
In limbo
The Nigerian international had been in limbo since the summer, when FA Premiership side Derby County FC decided not to keep him on after his initial loan spell and former club Milan AC did not offer him a new contract.
Debut soon
However West has now signed a deal with Andy Brehme's Bundesliga high-fliers which runs until 2004. He could make his debut against FC St. Pauli on 17 November.
Shrewd acquisition
The 27-year-old will prove to be a shrewd acquisition, according to Brehme. "For us, Taribo West offers us an option in all defensive positions," he told the Bundesliga's official website.
